Sat, Feb 16 - Went to JB with Jun and J. Met up with Pastor MG George. At last we saw the other side of JB that we haven't seen before. It was actually nice! We had lunch at a Southern Indian Resto where they serve masala thossai (potato stuffed crispy crust) with different curry sauces and lasee (fresh yoghurt drink). Then we went to buy some muruku goodies - peanuts, crispy noodle snacks and chips all courtesy of Pastor George. (Sosyal ng kapatid ko, first time sa labas ng bansa, tatlong countries agad napuntahan niya: SG, Indonesia and Malaysia! Joray! Naka SQ pa ang hitad! Grabe ang blessings ni God! Gos is great indeed!
Sun, Feb 17 - Met up with fellow pinoy Christian friends (the son of my mom's colleague) at J. East. We (bro and I) brought them to Trinity Christian Centre, then to the visitor's hall afterwards. Had lunch at Han's. Then J and I toured my bro around the city, after we parted ways with them: Esplanade, Merlion Park, Newton Hawker's Centre and to his friend at DTC (Discipleship Training Centre) near Novena, where I met a fellow pinoy who knew my boss. Small world huh? Then, i brought my bro to Mustafa - the 24-hour mega department store. TIRING but fulfilling day indeed. And my lao gong was so kind and sweet to be with us the whole day. (My boss was actually very kind to give me a leave the next day - Monday, so I could send my bro off to the airport). Praise God!
Supah dupah hectic week last week. May business with pleasure events and some happening stuff in the love area.
Tue-Wed: Went to Night Safari (2nd time) and Singapore Zoo - it was my first time!
Natuto na rin sa wakas ang aking lolo J. Instead of one red rose, this year, my lao gong was generous and loving enough to give me a bouquet-like roses (three in all). Atleast, increasing siya. Nagpareserve siya sa Indo Padang, where we had lunch with my bro and his prof when they arrived last week. It was a four-course meal consisting of king prawns, beef rendang (kaldereta itu), ayam goreng (fried chicken) and mixed veggies, with matching love potion for dessert. After dinner, we watched Jumper - ok lang, although medyo bitin, tsaka di ko talaga type ang plot. Medyo corny. The concept was good but the execution? so-so. But my sweet, fun time with my
alentine? Hindi lang so-so... kundi sooooo wonderful!
Last night, CNY's eve, I was just invited to my very first Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner, courtesy of my lao gong's dearest family. Despite my being a perennial latecomer, they were forgiving enough and very much concerned when I arrived coughing and sneezing.
Backtrack:
Mon - Feb 4: Very late for our ferryboat trip to Batam. It was my first out of town trip this year. And I was freaking late which made my boss furious. My bad. Nonetheless, everything went well during the training, despite my non-stop sneezing and coughing. I have finally met my colleagues from Jakarta, Timor Leste and of course, Batam. They were all very nice. We had nice, hot and spicy authentic Indonesian dishes for lunch and dinner.
Tue - Feb 5: Continuation of our training. I tried to join in the pasting so I could determine the speed.
