Voilah!

My girlfriends and I attended the High Tech and Innovation Symposium: Connecting France and Singapore that started yesterday,  one of the events in celebration of the French Festival this month of May. It was a two-day event with lots of interesting topics discussed via panel discussion tied-up with several company presentations that are good prospective employers.

The registration was free. The food was great especially on the first day - it will make one's sugar to shoot up due to a wide variety of mini cakes, pastries and fruits served. Yummy!

I skipped one session in the afternoon since I had to run and buy a cake for a surprise birthday celebration for our boss at Pawmarx. Thank God I made it on time, because of my ever supportive and helpful lao gong, who has always been there for me at the right place and at the right time - my lifetime angel indeed. Wo hen ai ni!

After I returned and attended the last session for the day, we then proceeded to the Fountain of Wealth and had the chance to go round it thrice which entitles the first timers to one wish. We took some photos while making the round and while watching the laser show. My sweet and thoughtful lao-gong met up with us right after he got off from work and brought us japanese food! Me and my friends were so touched. Xie xie ni ah my lao gong! mmmwah! Although, he was kinda problematic in the early afternoon, he still thought of me. And I thank God that everything seemed ok back in his office.

Today's session was more on French company presentations and I got to submit one resume to a prospective MNC - Gemalto. I hope to hear from them soon.

Capped the day with a late afternoon nap and an energizing one-hour brisk walk around the NTU campus with the girlfriends. whew!

Thu - Got an sms from my mom saying that she already sent the payment for my dorm fee. A requisite so I could get my invitation letter for PR application which entitles me to stay and work here in Singapore. The letter should be good for one year. PRAISE GOD!!! And i had extra money to do some grocery shopping too!!! I then celebrated with a beef ball soup meal right away!  Then I went jogging with my girlfriends Jan and Bia. What a fullfilling day it was!

Fri - Went out to visit a couple of museums with the girlfriends. First we went to the Singapore Art Museum (SAM). We availed of their lunch promo - free entrance from 12pm-2pm. It was cool! Great works of art especially the french art (paintings, sculptures, engravings, etc) which was part of the month-long celebration of the French Festival.  There were also a few excellent Filipino artworks which were part of the Southeast Asian Exhibit. After malling around Plaza Singapura, we then proceeeded to Asian Civilization Museum (ACM) where we saw very interesting Asian artifacts on religion, culture and history of various Asian countries. It was truly an educational and culturally enriching experience! My lao gong then met up with us and we had dinner at Makan Sutra at the Esplanade - yummy chicken wings and satay. A wonderful way to cap the evening.

Sat - Did some immediate part time job for my Prof. - spent   two hours photocopying some books that he would be needing since he'll be away for two months. After the gruelling task, I didn't realize that I would be getting paid right away! This was such a blessing!!! Thank you God! It is really by faith that I live day by day under Your grace.

Had some quality time with my lao gong. We had dinner at Clementi - my favorite hawker's place where they sell yummy hand-made noodles with prawns and delicious but affordable popiah. I treated J with grilled sting ray - very hot and spicy!!! lotsa chili but it was good too! Food trip to the max!

Sun - Went to Sunday Service. Apostle Naomi Dowdy's message was about "Standing in Strength in Times of Crises" - bottomline: OBEDIENCE to God: honoring Him in ALL areas of your life. And so I heeded to the altar call... I was crying my heart out to Him. Asking Him once again for His grace and mercy and thanking Him for all the blessings even though I don't deserve any of it... I felt light afterwards. I called up home and greeted my parents on their Anniversary. And Praise God that my father has finally been baptized by water!!!

J and I then had lunch at Bukit Timah market - Duck Rice and Rojak. We then decided to check out Uncle Ringo's carnival at Woodlands after seeing it on tv while on a bus going to Lakeside . And I got so excited when I learned that it was the same as the Euro Star back in Manila!!! The one that I wasn't abe to go to... And here, admission is free!!! weeee!!!  We first checked out Causeway Point Mall. Did some malling and hanged out at the arcade for a while. Then we had some photos taken at certain booths at the Euro Fun Carnival. J and I were so amazed by the Vortex - just watching people on it being tossed up and suspended on air was enough to get me excited to try the ride. But unfortunately, my sweet lao gong wasn't up for it, so we decided to take the romantic ferris wheel ride instead. It was exhilirating at the top as well - having an overview of the HDB flats nearby, the MRT passing by and the whole of the fun park was so cool.  We had our brief romantic moments whenever the ferris wheel brings us up to the apex and we had some photos to prove it.  *wink*  After some more sight-seeing and food tripping - cheese hotdog, cheese tofu and yummy thai coconut juice, we went home. Tiring but another fun day. Thanks to my lovable and ever generous lao gong!!!

Broke-n

With only 2 dollars in my wallet and some coins, who wouldn't be? I've been contemplating since yesterday if it's less costly if I just go back home for the meantime than spend my bumming days here in humiliating starvation being at J's mercy for decent food and transportation almost all of the time. I'm wasting away all the more, now that I have more free time than before when I was still stressed out by school stuff. I feel so paralyzed  as I become more of a parasite... sucking the bloodlife out of someone who doesn't deserve me -  a useles, pathetic lazy ass.

I can't even pay for my dorm fee on time. My parents are exhausting all their resources from I don't know where to send me the money which is just enough for my dorm fee... I even pawned any valuable that's left in me so I could buy food without asking from J. Kulang na lang ibenta ko kaluluwa ko dito... as if naman may bibili... hay hay hay

My friends are starting to look for a flat that we could share.  But I don't even know where to get the money for deposit and advance rental. I can't make myself to get serious and start looking for a job.  I can't even start working on my part time research job. I feel so lousy... I am lousy... ugh!

Donation anyone? canned goods and noodles will do...
